Tournament: OCE III’s East vs. West
When: 25 August 2024
Game: Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
Tournament structure: 2 teams battle it out in a 'winner stays on' single elimination format until only 1 team remains

How I did

I hadn’t signed up to previous East vs. West events because I worried about the team angle; I’d hate to be the reason my team lost.

After encouragement from the other OCE III members, however, I signed up for the fourth installment and had a blast. Unlike standard tournament formats, it’s nice to have a horse in the race even after you’re knocked out.

In terms of performance, I think I did well, knocking out 2 opponents before tasting defeat myself in a Ryu mirror match. My team went onto win thanks to heroics from some OCE III’s best players and, with 2 wins to my name in a tough format, I'm happy I was able to contribute to that.
